September 2024 Fast-Weigh Update

Update Notes

The Web Portal will update automatically.

On the 2024 browser-based Scale Ticketing Application, you will need UI Version 5.0.0 or higher and Server Version 5.0.0 or higher to use the new features. If your application does not apply these updates automatically, you can update it manually from the Server Settings screen.

Over the weekend, we launched a major update to Fast-Weigh enabling our new Repricing and Pending Ticket features, along with other enhancements. All changes will be reflected in the latest generation Fast-Weigh Scale Ticketing application (browser-based), as well as on the Web Portal. Users of the old Windows 10 ticketing application will not be affected by these changes; however, we highly recommend scheduling your company for an update to the newer scale software when possible so you can take advantage of the latest and greatest features!

Note: On the 2024 browser-based Scale Ticketing Application, you will need to be running UI Version 5.0.0 or higher and Server Version 5.0.0 or higher to use these features.

In This Update:
  • More granular Amount Minimums for rates applied to individual Order Products
  • New Customizable Search filters on our browser-based Scale Ticketing App
  • New Repricing feature allowing pricing to be edited for individual tickets
  • New Pending Tickets feature allowing you to create a draft ticket to be completed and printed later
  • New Simplified Cards toggle on the Scale Ticketing App allowing the user to see more or less information on sidebar items at a glance (Requests, Ticket History, Pending Tickets, In-Yard, etc.)
  • Ability to save Default Ticket Notes by Truck, Order, or Order Product
  • New Header Filters for all Tables within the Scale Ticketing App
  • Many more enhancements and updates

Read on for details.

Amount Minimums for Order Products

  • Amount Minimums are now controlled at the Order Product level instead of within the Order itself. This means your Amount Minimum can be distinct for each field (Material Minimum, Freight Minimum, Hauler Minimum, Surcharge Minimum), and for each Order Product.
  • Amount Minimums has been enhanced to allow minimums to be assigned to each individual product on an order. In addition, you can now apply minimums to Unit Price, Freight Charge Rate, Hauler Pay Rate, and Surcharge.

Customizable Search on Scale Ticketing App

  • Added NEW Customizable Search Fields to the Scale Ticketing App. This feature is accessible via the funnel icon after opening the Search field. (This feature will not be applied to the old Windows 10 ticketing app.)

Repricing: Enjoy greater pricing flexibility and set pricing for specific tickets.

Feature Overview

The new Repricing feature allows you to adjust pricing for an individual ticket that has not yet been billed, at any time. This change means that pricing can now be controlled at the ticket level, allowing for more pricing flexibility and customization than ever.

Web Portal Changes Reflecting Repricing:

Individual tickets can now be repriced on the Billing Screen as well as the Ticket Query table.

  • On the Billing Screen, adjust pricing for individual tickets by clicking the $ button under the Pricing column. You may optionally update the Order Product pricing in this window as well. You can also Lock Rates for tickets, preventing ticket amounts from being recalculated during a Reprice.
  • Once you have edited pricing for all tickets as needed and selected them via checkbox, you can reprice them by clicking Reprice Selected Tickets.
  • A Reprice checkbox has also been added to the left of the Assign button. This reprices all tickets based on their underlying Order Products and then assigns them to a batch.

Price Edit pop-up after clicking the $ button, showing the option to update Order Product pricing as well.
  • On the Ticket Query screen, adjust pricing for tickets by clicking the $ button under the Pricing column.

Scale App Changes Reflecting Repricing:
  • Rate Override - Scale Operators can now dynamically override pricing on a per-ticket basis. To use this feature, the Order must be edited to enable the Rate Override setting allowing operators to do so. The update will not give your operators this ability by default.
  • Enabling the Freight on Board (FOB) toggle zeroes out both the Freight Rate and Hauler Pay Rate, allowing the operator to dynamically set pricing based on whether the load is picked up or delivered.

Note: Users of the old Windows 10 ticketing application will not be affected by these changes; they only apply to the current generation browser-based ticketing app. However, we highly recommend scheduling your company for an update to the newer scale software when possible so you can take advantage of the latest and greatest features!

Pending Tickets

The Pending Tickets feature allows users to begin the ticket creation process and then save a pending or "stashed" version of that ticket without finalizing. Later, users can open the pending ticket once again to make any changes and create the finalized ticket for printing and submission to the cloud. (Example: If you wish to open a pending ticket, capture the gross weight of a truck, and then have the driver pull off the scale before determining what the Ship-To or Product should be and add those details later.)

How It Works: Creating a Pending Ticket

Create a pending ticket by selecting the Truck as normal and indicating the direction of the ticket (Inbound or Outbound).

Once these items are selected, a new "Stash Ticket" button will appear. Click this button to stash the pending ticket for future edits. You may also use the ALT + S hotkey to stash the ticket.

All pending tickets are stored in the new Pending Sidebar:

Note: You may create multiple Pending Tickets for the same Truck.

Editing and Finalizing Pending Tickets

Select any pending ticket from the Pending Sidebar shown above. Make changes as needed.

When done, you may Stash the ticket again, or Finalize it to print the ticket and send a copy to the cloud.

NOTE: Tare Weights are now recorded and saved to the Truck Record when Inbound tickets are finalized. You may prevent this by going to Settings > Overrides, and enabling the Prevent Saving Tare on Inbound setting.

Pending Tickets & In-Yard Module

If the user has the In-Yard module, creating a Pending ticket also marks a truck as being in the yard. On the Web Portal, a corresponding record is created with the truck under the In-Yard section.

Pending Tickets & Kiosk Mode

Kiosk mode has also had several updates to accommodate Pending tickets. The Check-In section of the Kiosk now creates Pending tickets, while the Ticketing section finalizes a Pending ticket (or will create a normal ticket, if no Pending ticket was made prior).

NOTE: Since Pending tickets are now created under Check-In, any two-step Inbound tickets must start by checking the truck into the yard first to create a Pending Inbound ticket with the captured gross weight.

Pending Tickets can be turned off in the Check-In Settings by disallowing Stashing Tickets.

Simplified Cards for sidebar items on the Scale Ticketing App

  • A new toggle allowing you to swap between Simplified Cards and Detailed cards has been added to our Scale Ticketing App. This feature gives you the ability to view more or less information for sidebar items like Requests, Ticket History, Pending Tickets, In-Yard, etc.
  • Access this feature by clicking the two-line menu at the top right corner of your sidebar.

Save Default Ticket Notes by Truck, Order, or Order Product

  • You can now save default Ticket Notes to a specific Truck, Order, or Order Product.

Header Filters for all Tables within the Scale Ticketing App

You can now use table headers to filter information within columns in all grids and tables.

Other Items Addressed

  • Truck Tare Expiration is now calculated using calendar days instead of hours. This will prevent any tare weights from expiring mid-day.
  • Added an override to allow the Add Product from Template button to be hidden (Settings > Overrides).
  • Barcode Format parsing added to Keyboard Wedge scans. Previously, we compared scans to the Truck RFID or BLE number. Now, a scan will check against the RFID/BLE number first, and if that fails, it will also check against any Barcode Formats set in the Sync Config area on the Web Portal.
  • Simplified the lane screen by adding the ability to "collapse" details
  • Added the ability to select a Hauler before the Truck in the lane
  • Fixed an issue with overweight truck warnings and errors not displaying on pending inbound tickets.
  • Fixed an issue with pending inbound tickets using “stash” instead of “finalize” in certain circumstances.
  • Fixed an issue with price adjustments not calculating for Multiproduct Tickets
  • Fixed an issue with Multiproduct Tickets showing the previously added product’s cash calculations instead of the current product’s cash calculations
  • Fixed an issue with the Multiproduct Ticket table disappearing after adding a new product in certain circumstances
  • Fixed a console error for non-unique IDs
  • Hid the “Create & Pay” button when creating an inbound pending ticket for a hauler that does not use saved truck tare
  • Fixed the sort order of the multiproduct ticket table. Most recently-added ticket is now at the bottom, to match finalized decimal places.
